Oscars Brand Collateral
Student Project – Senior Thesis
Oscars Brand Identity
Acknowledging that there are gaps between racial diversities represented at the annual Oscars ceremony, I established updated brand collateral to envision ways that the Academy can educate the American population about the issue of lack of racial representation within the film industry. The diagonal lines are a representative symbol of breaking/cutting through these boundaries and also act as an abstract representation of film reels, which is what the base of the Oscars statue is made out of.
The Academy could help raise awareness surrounding this issue and better their public image by airing a series of promotional TV commercials that actively engage viewers leading up to the ceremony. These commercials would showcase the diversity of previous Oscar nominees and winners and excite viewers about the upcoming ceremony.
